The Department of Animal and Veterinary Science prepares students in the fields of animal science-production, dairy science, agribusiness, range livestock management, and pre-veterinary science. Veterinary Science is a programme designed to impart the knowledge and skills necessary for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease and production problems in pets, farm animals, wild life and laboratory animals. Veterinary graduates are members of a major health profession that has its own system of education, registration, organization and ethics.
