Cryogenic engineering is an important specialization. This technology has even greater impact on machine operations. The goal of the course is to give people not working in cryogenics and appreciation of the basic principals and problems associated with the field. The course will also provide a foundation for future learning in cryogenics. Topics to be covered will include : properties of cryogenic fluids and materials, refrigeration, cryostat design, instrumentation, safety and properties of HE II.
