The course provides a solid theoretical background enabling the student to relate theory to practice, to take responsibility for a wide range of pedagogical decisions based on theoretical principles, to undertake a research study, and to acquire skills in managing language teaching. It aims at providing and understanding of those areas of linguistics which have a bearing on what goes on in the classroom both in terms of teaching and management.
