Introduction -Diploma in Medicinal Plant Farming (Cultivation)
Medicinal Plant constitutes more than 80% of raw material for preparation of Ayurvedic drugs and cosmetics. Similarly Homoeopathy and modern Pharmacopoeia also contains number of drugs derived from plants. Change over from synthetic drug to plant based drug is rapidly gaining acceptance all over the world. For meeting demands of medicinal plants not only in our country but also in abroad, it is necessary to cultivate more medicinal plant.
As India has unique bio-geographical position in the world therefore, more and more medicinal plants can be cultivated in our country. The aim of this course is to aware farmers and social workers to cultivate more medicinal plants. By doing so they can improve their socio-economic status in the society and contribute an important role in health care system.
