Opportunities
Anthropology tends to attract students with an original mind. Given this and given the central interests of anthropologists in cultural diversity in a changing world, anthropology degrees lead to a wide range of career opportunities.
Some graduates enter journalism. Others find work in development, as employees or consultants for agencies such as the Department for International Development and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The civil service, including the Foreign Office, has taken a number of our graduates, while others have entered the business world. Every year a number of graduates go on to further study, to gain professional qualifications in law, for example or to develop their work in anthropology.
