The day care programme prepares students to direct and administer educational, social service, and therapeutic programmes for young children and their families. The programme combines instruction and practical experience to prepare students for entry-level positions--as well as for advanced education--in this field. The instruction includes courses that focus on child development, behavior, and learning, followed by advanced work in, for example, the observation and assessment of children's development. In this programme students will learn how to care for children in a home based child care facility, a play group or pre-school. Student will study educational games, child growth and behavior, scheduling, age appropriate activities and more. |
