   Introduction - MA Political Science
  Political Science as a university subject is simply the disciplined investigation of the way in which people are governed. It can be divided into three related branches. 1) Government and Political Processes- how the institutions of government are organized, how policies are made & implemented and role of parties; 2) Political Theory-the systematic exploration of the ideas, such as democracy, freedom or equality, used by people to make sense of politics; 3) International Relations-the diplomatic, economic and military relations between states, international agencies and multinational companies.

      Career Opportunities
     The political science major provides a strong liberal arts background for students who may enter such fields as journalism, business, public administration, social welfare, teaching, and law. Some students attend graduate school, complete their Ph.D. degree and teach and conduct research in universities. Others work in all areas of governmental administration, urban and regional planning, policy analysis for legislatures and other decision-making bodies and public opinion survey research. Some students enter special programs in public administration, which train them for planning, policy analysis, management and other aspects of public administration.
