Thermal Engineers design, operate and manage facilities and system for environmental protection. They also measure air and water quality and seek ways to improve them. A Thermal Engineer may specialize in various tasks of the industry. The iterative problem-solving process of system engineering may be applied to understand the basic functioning of a thermal system, but where it is really needed is in the design of thermal systems, the most complex of thermal engineering projects.
